Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment
Electronic bill presentment & payment (EBPP) is a form of electronic billing in which a company presents its bills and customers pay these electronically over the public Internet or secured internet. EBPP solutions are catered for business-to-business (B2B) or business-to-consumer markets.
EBPP can produce substantial savings to traditional print & mail billing and payment remittance, and as an added benefit is a significant reduction in the use of paper.
There are two types of EBPP models:
Biller Direct: In this model, customers make payments directly to the biller which issues bills to its customers. Mostly customers will be directed to the biller’s website where customers will agree to pay. Various payment methods could be used e.g. credit card, debit card, direct debit. An example would be of a public utility company offering this payment service to its consumers.
Bank Aggregator: The approach under this model is to make payment at an aggregator or consolidator website, usually from a customer’s bank’s website. This model allows the consumer to make payments to multiple billers that are pre-registered to receive payments. An example would be using BPAY at a bank’s website.
We help clients implement BPAY and BPAY View and based on client’s needs and requirements develop propriety EBPP solutions. We can also assist in implementing open source or other third party EBPP solutions.
